Neti Pots for Health & Wellness

I’ve had some funky allergies here and there lately & I do know why. It’s because I haven’t been able to use my Neti Pot to clear my sinuses since I got my septum piercing in June. Neti Pots have been used for-EVER to clear debris that cause allergies and infections in your nasal system. Of course, some people have some different fears surrounding the use of the pots (including water up the brain) so I’d thought I’d explain my process on how to use them correctly. I’ve had some funky allergies here and there lately & I do know why. It’s because I haven’t been able to use my Neti Pot to clear my sinuses since I got my septum piercing in June.

Neti Pots have been used for-EVER to clear debris that cause allergies and infections in your nasal system. Of course, some people have some different fears surrounding the use of the pots (including water up the brain) so I’d thought I’d explain my process on how to use them correctly. There are quite a few reasons I don’t have regular allergy and cold issues, but Neti Pots are a major reason…

-Use room temperature or lukewarm water-it must be purified or boiled water, fill the container
-Combine ¼ of the Cleansing (non-regular salt) to the water
-I then hunch over my bathtub while kneeling on my knees as I tilt my head FORWARD and proceed to insert the tip of the neti pot into one of my nostrils as I allow the fluid to drain out of the other nostril. I DO NOT BREATHE IN THROUGH MY NOSE as this is happening, you breath with your mouth. Once I’ve completed the one side, I then plug the opposite side (the side the Neti tip was inserted into) & then I expel the remaining fluid. Then I repeat the process on the other side & expel that nostril.
I do this over the tub so I don’t make an unhygienic mess as doing this over and around your sink should be reconsidered. Please also get the correct salts, I use the “Lotus Brand”- Ancient Cleansing Nasal Salts because I’ve tried some generic drugstore stuff before and it severely dried out my nostrils.

Using the Neti Pot during a Cold, Flu or Virus is also a LIFESAVER, it dries up excess mucus, removes the debris from your nose and helps me at least, feel so much better.
